In 2015, myself and a team of cross-functional partners set out to explore & create a mat that maintains the high performance yogis have come to expect, while embracing sustainable innovation at every step along the way. It had been 10 years since lululemon launched a new mat. We studied yogis to understand how their bodies move on the mat, we listened to what they wanted to best support their practice and we created our newly developed Luvea™ rubber that's natural, sustainably-sourced, and certified to the FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®). The innovative gradient texture was designed with extra grip at the ends for firmly grounded in downward dog, while a smooth middle allows for fluid jump throughs.
